Get organized and stay on track.

Once you’ve got your creative life and business vision super sorted and you know where in your heart of hearts you want to be heading then you need to get sorted writing out a strategic plan. Blah, what?! “I’m a frieking artist not a corporate business entrepreneur” I hear you cry! The fact is, if you want more time to create your heartfelt passionate life and art then seriously you need to get organized and stay on track.

Your strategic plan is your road map, it keeps you on track to where you actually want to go and not ambling up small but distracting side trails or hurtling full pace on a freeway that leads to someone elses dream. It’s the ultimate in ending time wasting and busy work. To create your own road map here are the steps you need to cover.

1. Goals

Articulate your main big picture business/creative goals. These need to be fully aligned with your vision. Have your business/career and personal life visions in sight so you can check back with them while you write out your goals.

2.Strategies

Under each goal break down the key Strategies you plan to use to get there. These are more specific than your goals but still speak generally on how you’ll get your goals achieved.

3.Tasks

Now it’s time to get specific. List the key tasks to be done to achieve the strategy, by whom and by when. Some tasks may need to be broken down into smaller tasks later to make them feel more manageable. These are measurable and concrete and help you prioritise your workflow and stay focused. These tasks are the jobbies that make up your day to day activities.
