When we transition from full time mumma to focusing back on our careers there can be guilt that bubbles up. Guilt for missing certain milestones. Guilt for claiming an identity for ourselves. Guilt for saying no when we feel we “should” be saying yes. Some antidotes that have helped me have been to remember that I am my kids mum and provider, but also their role model for what women are capable of and have to contribute. Likewise I know I am a happier and less resentful mum when I am taking the space to show up in all aspects of my life. Even when it exhausts me to have so many balls in the air, it also energises me when I can contribute and express myself in other ways outside of being a mum.
