“He who has a why to live for can bear almost any how.” Friedrich Nietzsche AND
“Rest and be thankful.” William Wordsworth
Some seasons require a concerted effort to get shit done and push through. This is why our “why” matters.
Going from van-life to house life has been a big couple of months of really hard work and very little rest. But the end result is a home that can be leveraged to support creativity, new directions and sustainability moving forward. This allows me to work on my bigger whys of motherhood, contribution, community, travel and environmental harmony.
It’s been peppered simultaneously with some epic professional and new product development that will be crafted and formed up into new ideas and offerings in 2024. A mind and time and body stretch in this particular moment but again feeding into broader whys of purpose, creativity and legacy.
But amongst all this striving and forward momentum our human-ness can’t be forgotten. We need to also take moments for integration. To reap the rewards. To enjoy the fruits. To recover. To rejuvenate.
This morning I am allowing my home to care for me. To provide a stable safe space to drink tea and read a book and linger a little longer in a nest of pillows and blankets. I’m allowing my brain some space away from input and problem solving and responsibility to integrate. Even if just for an hour. And this matters as much as the striving and doing.
